You can avoid application crashes due to low memory with http://www.acelogix.com/freeware.html. This program monitors your memory, and frees up ram if it falls below a certain minimum. It consumes little memory (the lowest when compared to other such programs available on the net). Recommended for 95/98/ME only. It will NOT work with any version of XP
It is preferable to use FAST, TABBED NON Microsoft based browsers with the ability to turn off images, popups, popins, flyinads, exitpopups, etc. (Microsoft based browsers are too CPU (Central Processor Unit) Intensive. An example is Internet Explorer uses at least 11% of your cpu to open ONE window, and up to 83% when you open 18 windows which places too much load on your CPU, With NON Microsoft based browsers, you can surf more TX's faster. Examples are Acebrowser. It can open 20 screens without a crash , (http://www.aceexplorer.com/) Mozilla Firefox can open up to 48, Netscape 8 is based on Firefox and is VERY similar to Firefox in it's capabilities, and these browsers are lightweight browsers based on the GECKO browser engine. They are small, lightweight, fast and standards compliant.
A browser which is often overlooked is K-Meleon and it's well worth considering as an extremely fast, customizable, lightweight web browser for the win32 (Windows) platform based on the Gecko layout engine (the rendering engine of Mozilla). K-Meleon is free, open source software released under the GNU General Public License.
With NON Microsoft based browsers, you can surf multiple exchanges in the background at the same time as you're doing something else on your computer This means you can really earn massive traffic from your exchanges Tabbed browsing is great with slow dial-up connections, where waiting for a new page to load can be irritating. But I even love using it with broadband connections. (My system is Windows ME with a 256k adsl connection)
